Video - the darlings singing

I don't know if I will upload it or not...it sure was NOT a video of perfect little Christian children. Today is Good Shepherd Sunday. Ever since the oldest one was wee, I've been singing "I am Jesus Little Lamb" to the kids at bedtime. Today, we would sing that hymn in church, just like we do every Good Shepherd Sunday. I was thinking that I would upload a video of my precious darlings singing it and put it on YouTube and then link to it from the hymn list on the Sermons blog I have set up for dear husband. Yeah.

Somehow, I don't think punches and crying fit in too well to help a shut-in worship....although I am glad Jesus allows all of us sinners to be His lambs worth saving..we sure need it!

Oh I just tried to look at the video. It is VERY choppy. I think I will have to have a teenager help me next time.

Concerns

So I had another OB visit yesterday. Once again, I gained no weight. (sorry y'all!) This is the way it usually goes for me, so I am not worried about that. The baby is growing and the Dr wasn't concerned at all.

At the last visit I asked a different Dr about inducing right on my due date. He was not loving the idea, and was non-committal. Since the Dr I saw yesterday induced me the last time, I brought it up again. He said that the last time I had dilated 4cm already when I was in for my visit. OH I didn't know. This Dr actually explained the concern he and the other Dr shared...ruptured uterus from inducing with pitocin is much more common in women with many children. He said he didn't have a problem inducing as long as that just meant just breaking my water. I told him that I am totally good with that...if I do not have pitocin,I will probably not need an epidural!

We shall see how it goes now. I can plan all I want, but truth is, God decides when and how that baby arrives!

Am I really that old?

I could have called this post "Another milestone," but decided to change it up a little. LOL

Dear daughter #3 started Driver's Ed at a local high school this week. I was worried for her...she was (a long time ago) my shyest peanut....how would she do as a teen in a public school environment? I needn't have worried! She even made conversations and enjoyed the social atmosphere!

Breathe mommy..breathe! Now, can I muster up the courage to let her behind the wheel??

One Last Pregnancy Milestone

31 weeks today.

This milestone is when my sister-in-law's second child was born. We were there for this birth. She was on bedrest, my dh was waiting for a Call after graduating Sem and we'd been helping care for their almost 2 year old and celebrating our firstborn's 2nd birthday with them up in Iowa.

The ambulance came to the house to take her to the hospital. I'll never forget standing there with the two little people, watching through the huge picture window as the ambulance zoomed her away...praying that God would protect her and her little one.

Two days later, her second son was born. He was so small! But like his brother before him and sister after him, is a fine teenager today. There were some big medical scares along the way, but God in His great mercy resolved them.

(This picture of our two second-borns is 4 years old)

These memories comfort me each pregnancy. They are a constant reminder of His mercy.

Celebrating!

My friend, Polly, just had her baby last night.

I am so happy! This was her first hospital birth, the other 4 were born at home. I hope, for her sake, she didn't make it to the hospital and got to have it at home....but since she isn't on FaceBook right now, I am guessing that is not the case.

When I told my Dr that I knew a bunch of happily pregnant 40+ year old women of more than 3 or 4 already, he looked at me in shock and disbelief. I am guessing that 50 years ago, doctors were not so shocked. I am blessed to know lots of folks who share my convictions about children and motherhood. Even though some days are really hard :)

I wish it was me holding my baby right now. I really want my brain back.
