Oh I just looked at the hymns sheet for tomorrow's Divine Service and we get to sing one of my all-time favorite hymns!!! I never get through it without crying.

Glasses - Shameless Plug
A few years back, a radio talk show host we regularly listen to, Clark Howard, recommended a cheap, online Rx glasses store called Zenni Optical.
Rachel ordered Rx sunglasses from them a few years ago and they were great AND cheap! $8 frames, $5 for sunglasses tint and $5 shipping.
Since my dear husband, dear daughter #2 and I just got new glasses, we decided to order some sunglasses too. It is very sunny here in NC most of the year. Driving will be so much easier if we don't have to squint. AND if all three of us order at the same time, the shipping will be just $5 for three pairs! Maybe dh will order new racquetball goggles as well!

Milestones
This week, I passed another milestone. 29 weeks pregnant. Who cares you say? Six weeks ago, I posted about the 23rd week...My sister-in-law's youngest was born then. Well, her first born came after three miscarriages at 29 weeks, about 6 weeks after our first was born. Her boy is now a strapping 18 year old young man! A treasure.
From 2005, when those babies were both just 14....
I often speak to other women about their pregnancy and birthing experiences. It is one of my favorite subjects after all! ALL of my stories are "boring" in comparison. I may complain about pregnancy sometimes, but I truly humbled that God has graciously allowed all of our children to be born not only in due time, but healthy and strong.

Engineering - I know this counts as school!
Snap Circuits...for building electric stuff...
If you flipped a switch to close the circuit, it made the "fan" spin.
Brio train tracks and Duplos! He made some tracks later that were MUCH more complicated. It truly amazed me!

Payback
Kids exasperate their parents and grandparents smile.
Did I exasperate my parents so much God gave me 9 (soon to be 10) kids as payback????
Some days I do wonder!
Today, the three year old peed down the heat/ac register...right next to me. He had no idea this was not a good plan and was completely surprised that he got punished for it.

Breast Cancer
I finally found an article that discusses how childbirth and nursing reduce the risk of breast cancer. I had read about it in a WIC office several years ago, but have since not been able to find a place to point to until now.
From the American Cancer Society website:
Breastfeeding Can Reduce A Woman's Risk Of Breast Cancer
Childbirth alone reduces the risk by 4% per baby. (me 36% right there) Nursing reduces the risk by an additional 7% per year. (That adds upwards of 70% reduction). Why doesn't the media talk about those statistics? Why don't the schools?
Yes, just like they don't talk about how couples who abstain until marriage don't get ANY STDs. (And yet, for all of my pregnancies I have had to be tested for all of them anyway. Because, as Dr. House says, "Everyone lies.")
I don't mean to be crass or inappropriate, it just makes me frustrated that society is quick to judge me if I eat red meat or do not recycle but it also judges me if I procreate as God has designed....
