Blogs

I found a new blog today...The Concordian Sisters of Perpetual Parturition.

Perpetual Parturition? Forever birthing babies. (Yes, I had to look up "parturition" in the dictionary...)

Good for me? Yes, good for me. I am pretty sure they share my confession as well!

There is also a post from a pastor/father of soon-to-be 10 that I read today that made my day. While we have never met, my dd (child #3) and his ds (also child #3) are good friends and have arranged for our families to meet and become friends before or after SOLA next July. It is always a blessing to find that others share your same concerns/struggles/blessings..and I am looking forward to the day when we can all meet in person...hopefully before Heaven.

A Few More Firsts

Well, dd#3 is officially on her way to Texas!

It is her first time away from home without family members. It is her first time flying and her first time visiting the (supposedly) most awesome state in the Union.

This is the daughter who would not leave my side until she was about 5. This is the daughter who would give folks dirty looks if they spoke to her when she didn't want them to. She has really grown up. She was very nervous to make this trip, but insisted I make her go so she could face her fear and have no regrets.

I am proud of her and KNOW she will have a BLAST!!!

Tomorrow

I cannot wait until the election is over. No more tv, radio and newspaper ads, no more phone calls to interrupt my day and no more hype. There will be actual NEWS on the 24 hour news networks!

We will have our traditional election day party complete with the coloring-in of the states as they are called for R/red or D/blue with the adjoining electoral vote tally.

In our county 48% of the registered voters have already voted! We will vote tomorrow...and pray that we can accept God's will for our nation.

FINALLY! I mean finally I get to tell....

I have been waiting to share the official news....#10 Drosen-baby is in production! See? A whopping 17 millimeters.

Estimated date of arrival is around June 10, 2009...yes I will be 45...just like my maternal grandma was when she had her last and perfectly healthy baby.

The family tradition continued that all of the children received the announcement together. There was much rejoicing! I am glad because the intellectual side of me really wants to be scared. I worked up some anxiety after talking to the Drs the last time and in the end, I shouldn't have wasted my time. I KNOW how God blesses me this way. I'm just gonna "let Him do His thing" and pray that morning/all day sickness passes soon.

Since I have no tangible reason to fret, I won't. I will have a "special" ultrasound at 16 weeks and if they see anything worrisome at that time, we can change our plans of where to deliver accordingly.

I feel so much better after hearing the strong, fast heartbeat! Rejoice with us..and please pray for our health and safety.

Reformation

I love Reformation Sunday. I love everything about it. I love the music..the hymns. I love the lessons. I love the message. I love knowing that Luther shared my despair about not being able to live up to the expectations God has for me. I love that he wasn't a holy man. He was a learned man...he had a wife (boy, she must have been a saint) and six children. He didn't want to do or decide or set out to do what God laid out for him..he was compelled. He could not hold his tongue. It was not something he planned for.

Luther HAD to tell those whom he shepherded that God was not pleased with them BUT that God Himself solved the problem for us! He sent Christ to pay the price for our sin and give us the gift of His holiness! We are worthy now of heaven..not because we followed the rules, or were a good person or lived a good life..because at all of these things we have failed on more than one occasion. We get to go to heaven because Jesus bought our place for us!! Hooray!

Now ..shall I quote A Mighty Fortress or Salvation Unto Us Has Come????

A Mighty Fortress it is...now Sing Along!

1. A mighty Fortress is our God, A trusty Shield and Weapon;
He helps us free from every need that hath us now o'ertaken.
The old evil Foe now means deadly woe;
Deep guile and great might Are his dread arms in fight;
On Earth is not his equal.

2. With might of ours can naught be done, Soon were our loss effected;
But for us fights the Valiant One, Whom God Himself elected.
Ask ye, Who is this? Jesus Christ it is.
Of Sabaoth Lord, And there's none other God;
He holds the field forever.

3. Though devils all the world should fill, All eager to devour us.
We tremble not, we fear no ill, They shall not overpower us.
This world's prince may still Scowl fierce as he will,
He can harm us none, He's judged; the deed is done;
One little word can fell him.

4. The Word they still shall let remain Nor any thanks have for it;
He's by our side upon the plain With His good gifts and Spirit.
And take they our life, Goods, fame, child and wife,
Let these all be gone, They yet have nothing won;
The Kingdom our remaineth.

Is this what Martin Luther King Jr. was fighting for?

From what I understand, when Barak Obama talks about "saving" us from the economic peril which is about to befall us, he is saying that all of us deserve to have a piece of the pie that the wealthy have worked to bake..much like the friends of the Little Red Hen. However, unlike Mr. Obama, even small children see the point of The Little Red Hen and think she is wise to have taught her friends such a lesson. In the Left-hand Kingdom, redistributing the wealth to those who have not worked for it is wrong.

On Fox News last night, I heard that there are those who believe that "Socialism" is a codeword for Black!
Are you kidding me????
Barak Obama could be a lily white descendant of George Washington himself and I'd still think he was a socialist!

Martin Luther King, Jr. and others fought for equal rights for people of color. I think that was a fine, just cause, but was this what he had in mind for those people?

Here is the article.

Redistributing the wealth is socialism. The Government taking your money and deciding how to spend it for you is socialism. In this country, if I try to take over my parents' financial affairs without their permission is stealing! Why then is the government allowed to do it???

Thus ends today's political rant.
